When you're out for weeks at a time, "I'll deal with it when I'm home" turns into months. Home time is for family, not paperwork. Here's how OTR drivers usually get it handled without losing a reset.
Start from wherever you are
The checkup takes about a minute and works from your phone at a truck stop. Pick morning, afternoon or evening, and a licensed agent calls when you're parked — not while you're rolling.
Things that matter more on the road
- Who handles things at home. If your spouse or a family member runs the house while you're out, they're usually the person who needs to know where your coverage is and who to call.
- Paperwork by phone and email. Many applications can be handled by phone and e-signature. Ask the agent what's possible from the road.
- Timing. Some policies ask for an exam or records. If one is needed, schedule it around home time.
If you're driving right now, close this and come back when you're parked. It'll be here.
